I studied journalism at school, but soon after immigrating to Canada 10 years ago I found that photography is the only universal language everyone can understand.
I have a calm personality and I can totally relate that this whole photography experience might seem a bit intimidating.
It’s my job to put your at ease, to guide you in how to look
natural and help you get genuine portraits of you and your loved one. You can trust me to have your back to make sure you look your best in your wedding photos.
I believe in marriage, commitment and putting family first. And I believe that the wedding day is not just a perfectly styled party, but a beginning of something bigger.
I am married to my best friend since the teenage years Anton Park, who also happens to be an awesome cinematographer and a second half of our family business.
I believe in all things timeless and use medium format film as a medium of choice for my photos, when possible. Nothing beats the texture, softness and classy look of film.
I cry during speeches and I can’t help but fall love with each one of our couples.

A SANTA BARBARA ENGAGEMENT
Hiring a highly skilled wedding photographer who was not going to resort to the “typical” bridal photo shoot poses was very important to us, as my husband is not very comfortable in front of the camera. One look at Julia Park’s website and I knew her unique, fresh, elegant, and thoughtful photographic style was a good match for us.
However, when I met Julia I knew she was our photographer! She takes the time to get to know the couple. Not just their wedding style/theme, but she genuinely wants to know about how you met, what you enjoy doing in your spare time and works the unique aspects of your relationship into your photography sessions. Picking the right photographer was incredibly to us and we could not be happier with our choice. We both hate hate hate the typical, posed, cheesy photos that are unfortunately way too common in wedding photography. We knew from her website, that Julia would give us the opposite of these things. Julia and Anton were so great.
Such easy-going, friendly people but so professional. The shots were beautiful, candid, and genuine. We also received our images so quickly! So many of them too! My favourite was our golden-hour pictures.
Julia was amazing at directing us (which is important because I definitely wouldn't call myself a natural in front of the camera) but she never actually posed us. It all just felt really natural and comfortable. I look through them all the time and can't wait to show my kids one day.

Everyone feels differently about engagement sessions. Let’s just say that some couples are more exited about them than others. And we get it. There have been a lot of “engagement sessions” gone wrong on the web lately.
The thing is, your engagement session doesn’t have to be tacky. There’s nothing too forced about it. By now you probably know that we aren’t fans of cheesy stuff. For us, it’s just two people in love hanging out together. It can be as elaborate (gown, tux, and clifftop) or as simple (sundress, jeans, and your backyard) as you like.
Forget the awkward poses you’ve seen in the past. Don’t let them draw you away from getting some real-life photos of your soon-to-be family—just the two of you, or the three of you, including pup ;). All things aside, engagement is a one-of-a-kind time in your life, and it’s pretty awesome.
So why not document it?
Here are some other reasons it’s a good idea to have an engagement session:
- It helps you feel more relaxed in front of the camera on your wedding day. It really does. Most of our couples are not huge fans of being in front of the lens. And I get it. Having an engagement session done is a tremendous confidence booster for the wedding day. You’ll see that you look good in your engagement photos, and you’ll have no fears leading up to your wedding day. Many of our brides try to coordinate their trials for makeup and hair with the engagement session so that they can see how their makeup will look in photos and make adjustments if necessary
- It brings you closer to your photographers. I know it sounds kinda creepy, but it’s actually true. We get to know each other a lot more after the session. You get to see how I work, I get to see how you interact with each other. It’s a new level of connection.
- On a practical side, you can use those images for many purposes, including creating a guest book and save-the-date cards, posting on your wedding website, displaying in your reception cocktail area, etc.
Engagement sessions
At the end of one client meeting, my bride asked the following: “You’ve seen many weddings. What would be your biggest piece of advice for us?”
"Remember what it’s all about,” I answered without thinking.
In all the craziness leading up to the day, and all the events happening on the day, it’s surprisingly easy to forget why you are doing all this.
We adore couples with amazing style.
We get excited about beautiful flowers.
Wedding dresses are my weak spot.
BUT all this is NOT what your wedding day is about.
You are marrying your soulmate.
Someone who gets you without words.
Someone who looks at you the way no one else ever will.
You are lucky to have your loved ones there to witness it.
Your friends to give you hugs and to cry tears of joy.
Be present
.
Celebrate.
Remember what it’s all about.
We love taking the couple and no one else with us for some photos because, honestly, we want to give you time to be alone on that day.
There will be moments when I’ll put you in good light and ask you to just be, to snuggle, to have a little chat, to take it all in.
Don’t let the photos you “need” to get dictate how the day will go.
Some might be surprised, but we don’t want photography to dictate anything, really.
We want you—the real you, relaxed, happy, not afraid to laugh out loud or shed a tear even if you see that we are capturing all that.
For that is what we are there for.
Then, at the end of the day, you will be able to say sincerely, “This was a perfect day.” And, “Those photos really show how we felt that day.”

What are your favourite weddings to photograph?
I love intimate weddings. Be it in the city of Toronto, Niagara-on-the-Lake or Muskoka. I love when couples their day with the nearest and dearest to them
I love outdoor ceremonies. Backyard celebrations. Or elegant city affairs. Bruch or lunch restaurant weddings Surprise weddings are also pretty cool!
So glad you asked! We use a pretty awesome cloud based gallery to deliver the images. When the time comes, we send you a link and a password to download the photos. You can also order prints from there and send the link to your friends and family to download photos for themselves. Easy and quick. Pretty, sweet, eh?
